...and the Presbyterians don't like spicy

Today was a very exciting day at Luna coffee. A beautiful day can begin with a beautiful night of 3 hours' sleep due to cramming for tests. So, I get up for work nice and early and head off to work. I didn't even feel tired. It was perfect! So I'm minding my own business, making coffee when Jamie, the owner of the store next door pops his head in and says, "I think there's a skunk underneath this garbage can outside." We share an outdoor garbage can between our stores (We're in a strip mall) and Jamie comes over fairly often. So I think, "cute. A joke about smelly trash cans." So I keep working- then I look out the window five minutes later and my boss and Jamie were both on their hands and knees, 15 ft into the parking lot (naturally avoiding the said trash can) peering underneath it." Jamie wasn't making a lame joke about "offensive smells" (ha josie). There actually was a SKUNK under our TRASH CAN. It was alive and brimming with rabies, I'm sure. So I go outside to look at the skunk. Nasty. In the midst of all of this, two nice ladies (regulars) are sitting in luna, conversing, of which I don't hear anything EXCEPT I heard one of them say, nonchalantly, "...and the Presbyterians don't like spicy..."

What does that even mean? Presbyterians don't like spicy? I didn't know this. They were planning some kind of potluck. What do assembly's of God-goers like? Do we like spicy? I don't like spicy. Does this mean I'm presbyterian ? Hmm... If-then...
I thought it was funny.

The skunk story is NOT finished!!!! You thought it was. It's not. My boss called animal control, told them the situation and they said, "we'll take care of it."  They then called back 5 minutes later and informed us that they didn't have the equipment to take care of the skunk, "So, sorry." Alright. Problemo. My shift was about over at this time, and my boss was making her worried face. I'm sure it worked out alright. I think it probably worked out alright.... I really hope it worked out alright.
