Blog RECALL!

It has come to my attention that in one of my previous blogging efforts, I poked fun at a fellow blogger's blogging efforts. This is not okay, and we need to stick together. Thus I issue a recall of that blog. ....Or at least I will say that I'm sorry Joshwa. I beg for forgivness. To show my authenticity, I will form my own things-i-want-to-do-before-i-kick-the-bucket list and it will be inferior to Josh's (and Angel's. I've heard some of hers. She's much more exciting than I).

things-i-want-to-do-before-i-kick-the-bucket:

1. Go to a foreign food market in town
2. See my jr. high girls rockin' and influential for the Lord!
3. Sing the national anthem at a sports game. Except I want it to be another country's national anthem. In another country.
4. Zipline through the mountains or rainforest or someplace exciting.
5. FOR NARNIA!!!!
6. make the perfect soy cappucino and give it to a possible cranky customer that I possibly had last week. This is not bitterness. honestly.
7. See the Holy Lands. (or is it holy "land"?) I choose lands.

This is what I have so far. I kind of felt like I was on the spot and could not think of more... thus there is more to come. I will say that the chance of more to come is 70%. I am also not very good at estimations. Hopefully more is to come.

To quote the eloquent words of my History of Mexico teacher when educating us on current Mexican culture, "I wouldn't be too terribly afraid to go to Mexico City..in the daytime...."

A La Escuela!!! La da da dahdahdahdah

Do not worry. I am here with stress relieving suggestions.

5 Things I suggest:
1. Jesus.
2. My roommate has these supplements from the natural food section she used to work at in Cashwise. When you take them your body shuts down. Gaba something or other... Don't worry, they're not shady.
3. Plant a garden plot in the community garden on north university.
4. Wind the grandfather clock.
5. Crochet.

I do not suggest sneezing with nutter butters in your mouth. gross. Then you need to sanitize. I also do not suggest cherries, but that's just a personal preference.

On Wednesday, in my first class, we were asked to share our name, year, and why we joined the class we did. I have a fellow student in that class. He's named after a fancy variety of fruit, has a french accent, and used the verb "relish" in his description of why he studied history (that was the course). It was all very classy. Well done, Pere.

Note: I am not making fun. I like class. (As in style, not academics, though I don't mind that either.)

Bonjour!

bike rides, legolas, and rainy kitchens.

Thoughts that I'd like to share for the benefit of mankind:

bucket lists- I wanted to make a bucket list- mainly because it sounded fun and EVERYbody has one, but I was informed recently that "bucket list" is short for "things-i-want-to-do-before-i-kick-the-bucket list." Tacky. Kick the bucket? What a tacky name for a list. I always thought "bucket list" sounded at least somewhat classy or sophisticated. This ruined it for me. I might not even make one now.

but if i do i'll probably blog about it ;)

fruit pizza- mmmmmmmmmmmmmMMMMMMMMMMMmmmmmmmmmm. That's about the depth of my thought.

weekend!- I'm going on a fun friday/saturday trip for my birthday (which is on MONDAY!!! ahhhhhhHHHH!). Fun fun fun! Ben is surprising me with lots of secret surprises! We will be staying at his aunts house on friday--in SEPARATE rooms/floors. I just have to issue a minor disclaimer to all newbies reading this :) I love Jesus and do not want to do anything that dishonors Him in any relationship! I don't want a super fun filled great surprise weekend to sound like it's anything sad like that! Nope! It's happy!  :). Disclaimer over. Anyway, it will be fun fun fun! fun!

lord of the rings- I went on a bike ride with Austin and Jordan today. On this trip austin volunteered to pretend to be the elf from lord of the rings. He became so inspired we went back to their apartment and watched some of it. Austin's getting better at prancing and thoughtfully staring off into the distance.

cleaning- i don't wanna do it. I should have done it earlier. It's the main source of my current procratination. I'ma go to bed instead of cleaning. Maybe i'll do it tomorrow. :)

Serving- I want to be a servant. Not the still-kinda-try-and-get-your-own kind, but the legit, humble, Jesus kind. I don't want to worry about things being fair, or making sure I have what I need first. I want to love people in how I serve them, not just by saying that I do. I want my roommates (they are the best!), and friends, and acquaintences, and strangers to know their need is more important than my need. ...Which means their need needs to be more important in my heart too. Good thing Jesus is in the changing hearts business!

rain- it's raining right now. I love rain! I especially love falling asleep to it. I do not, however, love it when it rains in my apartment. It's also raining in my kitchen right now. We have bowls set out on the floor. I am not annoyed. I am speaking life over my not-annoyedness.

That's all I got- I think I procrastinated long enough to leave everything I should have done tonight for tomorrow morning, and just go to bed. :) Goodnight!!

p.s. this was supposed to be posted last night- in case the "raining right now" and "going to bed" confuses you :) follow this, instead of the time listed!

To Save A Life!!!

So...I am blogging at 2:30 in the morning (that's right...I am being crazy, can you believe it?!) but I have a good reason: I just watched a really, really good movie!
The movie is "To Save a Life" (as you may have guessed by my clever blog title) and I have been wanting to watch it for eight months, ever since Miriah showed me a movie trailer online. Since I have been waiting to watch it for so long, of course I wanted to stick it in when I came home from work today since I just bought it. It was soooo good that I was wide awake for the whole thing! (this is saying a lot considering I always fall asleep in movies and four hours ago I thought I was going to fall asleep putting my residents to bed)
If you have never heard about this movie, I will tell you a little about it. It's about this really popular guy who had this friend when he was younger that he stopped hanging out with since this friend was not cool and then when something tragic happens to this "no-longer friend", the popular guy starts looking at life from a whole new perspective and making a difference in others' live. (I realize that this description sounds super lame-it is waaay past when I should be sleeping-but trust me, it is so good-and very inspirational!) If I had fast internet connection I would put a picture and a link on here for your convenience but unfortunately dial-up is turtle slow so I will leave that up to whomsoever pleases. Oh, and the youth pastor in the movie reminds me of Pastor Terry, not in looks, but in mannerisms and character. (So see, it has to be good!)
Anyways, I am rambling on and on, but one more thing about this movie: since I own it now, if you (reader) would like to watch it one day, you can do so for free because I can soon bring it to our apartment...woo hoo!  Good night/morning/day!
P.S. I really liked seeing my roommates three separate times the other day in the same Wal-Mart shopping trip..what a fun surprise!

thank you, sister rosalind

I think it's important that everybody reading this blog knows that my roommates are the greatest (sorry all other roommates :) )They are fun, and have red, curly, hair that does not look like a boy's on the wii, lots of freckles and love horses. Elite traits.

they are good at so many things!

They are good at doing the dishes

They are good at cooking
They are good at talking in Ubbi Dubbi
They are good at Friendship (pun)
They are good at buying groceries
They are good at being fun
They are good at training horses
They are good at running
They are good at writing funny blogs
They are good at writing deep blogs
They are good at doing their hair

They are good at being encouraging
They are good at challenging me
They are good at sharpening me
They are good at lifting me up!
They are good at giving me wise advice
They are good at being roommates (or fellow friends, for those who don't like the term "roommates" anymore :D)

They are the best of the best and deserve the best! They should get something in return- like a wii! or maybe oondwah en fraezah? Or maybe a free hour long massage by a massage therapist specialist! OOOOooooOOoooooo. Will they actually get any of these sweet things? One, for sure. Two?... maybe!

In the wise words of Blake Morrow, who quoted the much wiser words of Jesus, "ask and you shall receive."

hmm...
